Mordy Maduro

Mordy Maduro played a big role for soccer on Curacao, starting with his club “Jong Holland”. He became president of the soccer federation on 9 May 1951 in the Rif Stadion, and it took not long for CBV initiated its first office in the Lucky Strike building on Wilhelmina Plein.

·         1974 Honorary member of  FIFA and Concacaf .

Maduro was elected vice-president of FIFA in 1960 and re-elected in 1968. Thanks to Mordy Maduro many foreign teams visited Curacao during his presidency. His great contribution to Curacao football development was honored in 2002 with naming the federations development center after him.
